THE TROTTER BRUVERS CONCEPT


Our trading philosophy is based around the antics of the loveable Cockney
rogue and wheeler dealer, Derek "Del Boy" Trotter, from the hugely
successful  BBC Television series "Only Fools and Horses".

Whereas Del Boy spent his time operating from his market stall in Peckham,
and in some cases from his road-side suitcase, creaking under the weight of
"dodgy gear", we deal only with legitimate and high-quality products which
are transported directly from the UK. However we have adopted "Del Boy's"
basic sales philosophy of "a good deal" and the instore concept is unique to
Trotter Bruvers in that we offer supermarket quality at Peckham Market
prices.

We don't have fancy shelving but use warehouse racking to display the goods,
maximising floor space.


ADDITIONAL REVENUE

We also promote the "Shop within a Shop" idea which not only adds valuable
revenue for the Franchisee but also provides the customers with a varied
selection of other quality products which could range from women's lingerie,
English books, computers and crockery.

The prime instore concessionat the Pedreguer store is to J.M.L. - the world leaders in retail promotions, who have consistently delivered exceptional sales through the combination of innovative products, in-store video promotions and
heavyweight TV advertising. For the host of retailers already stocking
J.M.L., this has proven to be an incredible sales opportunity that is one of
the most profitable uses of floor space.

Q. What is the Trotter Bruvers' long-term plan?

A. The Trotter Bruvers' Mission Statement is to grow a successful
international retail brand which is a first-stop store for anyone seeking
British-branded products and services which they know and want.

Q. What are the benefits of becoming a Trotter Bruvers Franchisee?

A. Franchisees will be able to run, and develop, their own business while
using the internationally-known Trotter Bruvers brand. They will also enjoy
24/7 support of the very experienced and qualified Trotter Bruvers Team
which will provide access to key suppliers together
with on-going advice.

Q. How does the Trotter Bruvers Team help?

A. Trotter Bruvers will help you with the first assessment for the start-up
of the new store including location, likely costs, store layout, product
selection, new product ideas, marketing opportunities and advertising.
Although based in Pedreguer on the Costa Blanca, the Trotter Bruvers Team
will come to you and help with hands-on support and advice.

Q. Why don't I just start up myself?

A. You can - and many have done so - but equally many have also failed due
to lack of research with local government issues etc. and logistical
problems. Increasingly, entrepreneurs are finding that it is more
beneficial, and practical, to work alongside an experienced team with a
well-known brand name. It also takes a great deal of pressure off you.

Q. How much will a Franchise cost for a Trotter Bruvers store?

A The likely set-up cost is based on location, the size of the premises and
the depth of product selection. Every location is different but we provide
an estimated cost starting at 200,000? with on-going running costs of
50,000?.

Q. What are the on-going costs?

A. They are rent, wages, stock, insurances, utility bills, security and
taxes etc.

Q. Can Franchisees buy products directly themselves?

A. Yes, but only if Trotter Bruvers are unable to supply the Franchisee with
the required products. Otherwise all stock must, at all times, be bought
through Trotter Bruvers.

Q. What would be the typical size of a store?

A. We would expect the store to be a minimum of 450 square metres and
located in an area with good access - site selection is paramount  to
success.

 

Q. Do I have to be British to become a Franchisee?

A. No, but it is essential for the Franchisee to have a good knowledge of
product range and the staff have good communication skills with
customers and understand the Trotter Bruvers' concept.

Q. Do Franchisees sell on-line?

A. Every Trotter Bruvers Franchisee has access to their own website
enabling them to reach a wide range of clients i.e. the public, bars,
restaurants and other retail outlets. In addition, advertising revenue can
be raised through the Trotter Bruvers' Business Directory.

Q. What happens if I want to sell the store?

A. You may, of course, sell your store but Trotter Bruvers needs to ensure
that it's Brand is in safe hands therefore our total agreement will be
required. All transfers will be carried out through the Trotter Bruvers'
Legal Advisor and a nominal fee will be charged for the transfer.
